Construction Underwriter

Overview

Generali is a major player in the global insurance industry - a strategic and highly important sector for the growth, development and welfare of modern societies. Global Corporate & Commercial Italy is the unit of Generali Italia S.p.A. that develops insurance services for medium and large corporate clients. Based in Milan or Rome, within the Construction & Bonds department of GC&CI - Underwriting, you will deal with underwriting Construction products in Italy and abroad. You will support the global strategy to ensure the successful achievement of business targets.

Responsibilities

• Perform underwriting and portfolio management activities to achieve top and bottom-line targets in harmony with the Engineering governance framework (Underwriting Authorities and Guidelines).
• Underwrite Construction risks such as CAR / EAR / IDI / DSU / Decennial Liability, for domestic and international programs, with the ability to drive the relationship with internal and external stakeholders in the insurance and reinsurance market.
• Support product development activities.

Qualifications

• University degree in an engineering science discipline such as Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
• At least five years of relevant experience as an Engineering / Construction Underwriter for Corporate Business.
• Strong communication skills, ability to work in an international context, fluent in both English and Italian.
• Flexibility to work in team as well as independently, attitude in commercial negotiation.
• Good command of main IT packages and practice in the use of underwriting tools.
