Senior Cloud Engineer - OpenStack

Hays Italy, part of the multinational Hays group, a company listed on the London Stock Exchange, offers consulting services in the Information Technology sector with the aim of contributing to the success and technological progress of individuals and companies. We are looking for a candidate with proven experience in designing & implementing complex cloud infrastructures based on OpenStack and in managing automation through Terraform & Ansible Kolla.

Location: completely full remote – Italy based.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed designs for cloud solutions aligned with engineering architecture guidelines
• Implement cloud infrastructures based on OpenStack & develop automation using Ansible Kolla & Terraform
• Standardize configurations, procedures & operational processes
• Prepare technical documentation, including operational guides, technical diagrams & standards
• Conduct testing & handover activities to operational teams
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of cloud platforms

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Cloud Engineer
• Background as a Systems Engineer, with strong expertise in Linux systems & distributed infrastructures
• In-depth knowledge of OpenStack
• Advanced experience with Terraform & Kolla
• Experience with private cloud or proprietary CSP environments
• Advanced troubleshooting skills
