Environment, Safety, Security and Health Manager

Senior ESH leadership role responsible for planning, coordinating and controlling all ESH activities to comply with legal and corporate requirements, optimizing fire prevention and environmental protection, maximizing employee safety and health, and plant security. Initiates and implements action plans for continuous improvement of ESH processes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all ESH activities for the plant and translate group/BA ESH strategy into action plans; ensure implementation and achievement of ESH targets according to internal and external customer expectations.
• Initiate and drive continuous improvement activities using CBS methods; promote and live ESH principles; advise Plant Management on all ESH aspects.
• Invest in ESH equipment and training; participate in or lead global/local ESH projects or cross-functional initiatives.
• Plan, manage and review budgets and forecasts for ESH cost centers; ensure timely data submission to controlling; execute activities according to approved budgets.
• Manage planning and implementation of safety measures: fire prevention (where applicable), occupational safety, plant security and information security, environmental protection (hazardous substances, waste, emissions, risk management), medical services and occupational health management.
• Coordinate safety inspections for new plant installations; plan and conduct environmental and safety audits and ensure compliance with standards (CT management system, SH Corporate) and legal requirements.
• Implement external (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001) and internal ESH standards; provide feedback for standard development; monitor legal regulations and assess impacts on processes and facilities; manage permits and ensure compliance with permit conditions.
• Establish and run GEMBA walks related to safety issues.
• Plan and implement emergency and crisis management; conduct risk analyses and develop emergency preparedness concepts; ensure structured root-cause analyses and sustainable corrective actions.
• Operate ESH performance monitoring (KPIs, targets); identify, prioritize and implement improvements; contribute to standards and process development for ESH.
• Represent the plant in negotiations with responsible authorities on ESH issues; ensure local implementation of central ESH standards; lead plant EHS committee and coordinate training, policy access, and corrective actions; collaborate with unions and RLS.
• Lead the local integration of Conti's behavior set and serve as a role model for ESH; embed ESH governance and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• General Management and Strategy: coordinate plant ESH activities, transform group/BA ESH strategy into action plans, drive achievement of ESH targets, lead continuous improvement, advise Plant Management on all ESH aspects, coordinate investments for ESH equipment.
• Financial Management: prepare, review and manage ESH budgets; ensure timely data to controlling; align activities with budget.
• Planning & Implementation: manage fire brigades, implement fire prevention, occupational safety, plant and information security, environmental protection, medical services, and occupational health management; coordinate safety inspections; conduct audits and ensure compliance with standards.
• Crisis And Risk Management: plan emergency and crisis management; conduct risk analyses and develop concepts; ensure root-cause analyses and sustainable measures.
• Monitoring And Reporting: monitor ESH performance, track KPIs and targets, drive improvements, provide input for standards and processes.
• External Relationship Management: represent plant in authority negotiations; ensure compliance with external requirements.
• Integration: ensure local implementation of central ESH standards; lead ESH committee and drive training and policy access.
