Overview

Mechatronics Engineer - Motor Control (Rome) role at TMC. TMC Italia is looking for a Mechatronic Engineer based in Rome (Italy) to provide support on Aerospace & Defense applications. The activity will be carried on in an international context.

Responsibilities Will Include

  • Maintenance of design documentation
  • Contribution to test procedure, test reports and user manuals
  • Support to power budget assessment
  • Motor Drive tuning refinement for all motors (i.e. azimuth, elevation dual motors, third axis, …)
  • Tuning performance tests (i.e. sinusoidal / constant speed) and comparison with previous motors performance from Test Campaign
  • System and Electronic Engineering support for Motor Drive Units, Board Unit Interface, Active Antenna Units Integration/ Test / Validation
  • Support Technical Documentation production, update and finalization
  • Support to Simulink Team for system model updating and validation with new pointing algorithms (2/3 axes, open/closed loop)
  • Support for Project milestone preparation, RID answers and on-call technical issues
  • Support for Subsystem design or HW changes

What We Expect From You

  • Mandatory a master’s degree in Mechatronics/Electronics Engineering
  • Mandatory experience in the role (3-5 years)
  • Mandatory knowledge of Complex Servomotors (Three-phases Brushless motors, HarmonicDrive, Double Absolute BiSS-C Encoders)
  • Mandatory technical skills in motor tuning (i.e. Position Loop PID, Velocity Loop PID, Current Loop PID, Velocity Feedforward, Acceleration Feed Forward, LPF Filtering, Drive configuration, …)
  • Deep knowledge of Matlab & Simulink (modelling starting from scratch)
  • BISS-C protocol knowledge for ELMO MTD configuration
  • Analysis and debugging with Ic-HausMBD5 Tool
  • Encoder Zeroing and Counting Direction setup with MBD5 tool
  • CommunicationDATA I/F (CAN BUS, RS232 / 422, MIL-STD-1553, Ethernet, ARINC429, I2C, SPI)
  • CANBUS and CANOpen protocol
  • Exceptional analytical, problem solving and conceptual thinking skills
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Serious motivation for the Employeneurship model of TMC
