Project Manager – Data Center

Location : Milan or Rome, Italy

We are looking for a Project Manager to lead the development, construction, and commissioning of electrical and utilities infrastructure for a new data centre in Italy. This role will also support business development and strategic initiatives related to project development.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead energy & utilities projects from concept to delivery, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Coordinate with engineers, contractors, stakeholders, and utility providers for HV / MV infrastructure.
  • Supervise the design and construction of substations and power lines, ensuring timely delivery within budget.
  • Manage resources, budgets, schedules, and quality control processes.
  • Track project progress, conduct regular meetings, and elevate issues as necessary.
  • Negotiate contracts and bids with contractors, developers, and consultants.
  • Support site due diligence activities and resolve factors impacting project handover.
  • Review deliverables, raise queries, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare progress reports to support decision‑making and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.

Key Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Industrial, Energy Engineering, or a related field.
  • Advanced knowledge of HV / MV electrical systems and Italian electricity regulations; experience in other European markets is a plus.
  • 3+ years’ experience working with DSOs, TSO, suppliers, or utilities.
  • Proven experience in planning, design, permitting, and construction of HV / MV substations and underground power lines.
  • Familiarity with power line concessions, interconnection agreements, and utility operating models in Italy.
  • Experience with data centre clients is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Proactive, autonomous, flexible, and commercially astute.
  • Fluent in Italian and English.
