Telco Cloud Consultant

Overview

For a prestigious Client in the Telco sector, we are looking for a Telco Cloud Consultant to support the evolution of our Telco Cloud Platform, which hosts cloudified telecom services across multiple countries. The role requires strong technical expertise and the ability to collaborate with internal teams to guide architectural decisions and delivery.

What you’ll do

Provide technical leadership on the Telco Cloud Platform hosting VNF, CNF, and PNF workloads for 4G / 5G Mobile Data, Mobile and Fixed Voice services across multiple countries.

Contribute to RFPs and technical evaluations (TPOCs), assessing vendor solutions and identifying strengths and weaknesses.

Serve as Technical Design Authority for the Telco Cloud Platform, supporting Network Function Design, Delivery, and Operational teams, providing technology direction and day-to-day technical leadership.

Support the roadmap definition for the platform, including On-Prem hardware, Public Cloud integration, IaaS / CaaS layers, and CI / CD pipelines.

Author solution architecture documentation, RFP artefacts, and presentations.

Engage with vendors to understand their product roadmaps and provide input based on the platform’s requirements.

Required skills & experience

Proven experience with Telco Cloud Platforms hosting cloudified services for 4G / 5G Voice and Mobile Core.

Deep knowledge of :

• Virtualization platforms ( OpenStack )
• Container orchestration ( Kubernetes, AWS EKS, RedHat OCP )
• CI / CD pipelines ( GitLab, Concourse )
• ETSI MANO standards

Strong understanding of one or more NFV orchestration solutions (e.g., Nokia NCOM, NCD) to map these blocks into a specific infrastructure orchestration platform and fill gaps with developed or COT products.

In-depth knowledge of public cloud platforms (preferably AWS).

Advanced understanding of Telco cloud networking (underlay and overlay) to support technical discussions on IP design and delivery.

Experience deploying network functions as a service in a highly available and resilient manner.

Experience integrating OSS / BSS systems using loosely coupled architectures.

Nice-to-have

Familiarity with Kafka, API Gateway, persistence technologies, ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, Zabbix.

Location : Hybrid in Milan, with occasional travel to the UK.
