Taylor Hopkinson is recruiting a Head of Solar Procurement to lead procurement activities for solar projects across all the countries where the company operates.

Based in Italy , the candidate will be responsible for defining and executing the procurement strategy, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring cost-effective and high-quality sourcing of key solar components in multiple European countries.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and implement the procurement strategy for solar PV projects across multiple international markets.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and contractors to ensure the best commercial and technical solutions.
  • Lead the negotiation of contracts, framework agreements, and supply terms for key components such as PV modules, inverters, trackers, and balance of system (BoS) equipment.
  • Ensure procurement activities align with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Monitor market trends, pricing, and supply chain risks to optimise procurement decisions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, development, construction, and finance , to support project execution.
  • Develop and maintain a strong supplier network, identifying new opportunities for strategic partnerships.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international regulations related to procurement and supply chain management.

Requirements :

  • Degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 5 + years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or strategic sourcing within the solar energy sector .
  • Strong knowledge of solar PV components and supplier networks .
  • Experience in negotiating large-scale supply agreements and managing international procurement processes.
  • Excellent understanding of global supply chain dynamics , pricing models, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ability to work in an international environment , managing procurement activities across multiple countries.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Fluency in English and Italian (both written and spoken); additional languages are a plus.
