Job Description: Experienced PBA Line Manager

Location: Trieste (IT)

Employment Type: Full-Time, on site

Overview

At StarTech Trieste we are starting an ambitious evolution process that will dramatically improve our site capabilities and will allow us to access the most advanced markets such as Telecommunications, Aerospace and Defense. In this framework we are seeking a seasoned and results-driven PBA Line Manager to oversee and optimize our Printed Board Assembly operations.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in electronics manufacturing, technical knowledge of all technologies and equipment involved (SMT, selective and manual soldering, conformal coating, in-line and off-line controls and testing) strong leadership capabilities, and a passion for continuous improvement in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor line operators and technicians. Identify weaknesses and missing capabilities and propose countermeasures. Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and excellence.
  • Production Oversight: Manage day-to-day operations of the PBA lines, ensuring quality, efficiency, and adherence to production schedules. Identify bottlenecks and implement lean manufacturing principles to improve throughput and reduce waste, defining and monitoring proper KPIs
  • Equipment Management: Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of SMT machines, AOI, reflow ovens, and other PBA equipment. Keep close contact with equipment manufacturers and monitor the introduction of novel technologies that can support our growth
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with all the other departments to align production goals to overall business objectives. More specifically, as PBAs will both sold directly and used into sub-assemblies, it will be required to manage priority conflicts between internal and external supply

Qualifications

  • Proven experience (10+ years) managing PBA production lines in a high end electronics manufacturing environment, preferably addressing different markets and certifications
  • Strong knowledge of PBA assembly processes, related equipment and international procedures and standards
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to thrive under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
  • Proficiency in production management software and tools (e.g., MES, ERP systems).
  • Technical degree in Electronics, Manufacturing, or related field.
  • Sound communication capabilities in English
  • Previous experience with AS/EN 9100 certification is preferred

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and development.
  • A dynamic and collaborative work culture focused on innovation and excellence.
