Staff Pharmacist, Pharmacy Services

We are looking for a Staff Pharmacist to join us on our journey to make it drastically easier for customers to find, choose, afford, and engage with the services, products, and professionals they need to get and stay healthy!

Must have an active Registered Pharmacist license with the AZ Board of Pharmacy. Must reside in the state of Arizona, and must be able to commute to the office if necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain comprehensive customer profiles including current and past medical history, clinical and laboratory data, and concurrent medications (including over-the-counter and home remedies).
  • Evaluate physician medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions, and route of administration. Make recommendations for therapy changes to the prescriber as appropriate.
  • Operate and troubleshoot Pharmacy Automation Systems:
    • Utilize, monitor, and troubleshoot automated dispensing and fulfillment systems to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely preparation of prescription orders.
    • Collaborate with pharmacy technicians and engineering teams to resolve automation issues, optimize workflows, and maintain compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Dispense Controlled Substances and Maintain Regulatory Compliance:
    • Accurately dispense controlled substances in accordance with DEA regulations and state-specific laws.
    • Maintain thorough, timely, and auditable records of all controlled substance transactions, including inventory management, reconciliation, and reporting requirements.
  • Provide Clinical Support:
    • Answer clinical questions and provide guidance.
    • Collaborate with healthcare team members.
    • Document all healthcare team communications.
    • Investigate and resolve medication errors.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
    • Implement policies and procedures in accordance with state and federal laws.
    • Maintain required regulatory documentation.
    • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Support pharmacy operations across departments as needed.
    • Physical requirements may include ability to perform warehouse work and lift at least 20 pounds.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. degree
  • Active and unrestricted Pharmacy License in the state of employment (additional licenses may be required)
  • Proficiency with basic computer functions and pharmacy systems
  • Exemplary interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of pharmacy laws and federal/state regulations
  • Ability to manage high call volume while maintaining quality customer service
