Telecommunication Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Telecommunication Engineer to join our team, focusing on the development of advanced solutions for WiFi and 5G communication systems. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute and impact the development of major vendors WiFi routers, WiFi mesh systems and 5G user equipment and repeaters. The successful candidate will be involved in the design, development, and optimization of next-generation smart antenna systems, leveraging latest WiFi and 5G platforms, advanced algorithms, and wireless network technologies to enhance coverage, performance, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Smart Antenna Design & Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop smart antenna systems for WiFi (WiFi7 and WiFi8) and 5G (NR) networks; work with hardware engineers to integrate antenna systems into communication platforms, ensuring seamless operation and system compatibility.
• Algorithm Development: Develop and optimize algorithms for smart antenna control to enhance coverage, reliability, and performance of WiFi routers, mesh systems and 5G (sub GHz and mmWave) user equipment and repeaters; implement and test algorithms in simulation environments through Python as well as commercial products from major vendors.
• Software Development & Integration: Design and develop embedded software for smart antenna control; write efficient and high-performance code in C for real-time antenna systems.
• Performance Optimization & Testing: Design and conduct system validation and performance testing of smart antennas for WiFi and 5G networks under various operating conditions; debug and troubleshoot issues related to system integration and software components; collaborate with hardware teams to ensure optimal performance of the overall system.
• Collaboration & Technical Leadership: Work closely with RF engineers, hardware designers, and test engineers to ensure the antenna system integrates smoothly with WiFi routers, mesh systems and 5G (sub GHz and mmWave) user equipment and repeaters; contribute to the development of technical documentation, including system architectures, interface specifications, and user manuals; stay updated with the latest research in 5G NR standards, and WiFi advancements.

Qualifications

• Education: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications or a related field. A PhD is a plus.
• Experience: 2+ years of experience in wireless communication systems; experience in developing and deploying software for wireless communication systems (WiFi, LTE, 5G).
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with communication protocols, particularly WiFi (IEEE 802.11); proficient in programming languages such as C and Python; knowledge of signal processing, digital communications, and RF front-end design; experience in hardware-software co-design for real-time systems.
• Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex system issues; excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment; self-motivated with a passion for innovation and continuous learning.
