Job description summary describes the Clinical Specialist reporting to the Medical Manager MDS Italy & Greece, with accountability for clinical aspects of the MDS portfolio within the assigned geography and providing pre- and post-sales support in clinical, training, and educational capacity. The role involves leveraging clinical and product knowledge to meet customer needs, collaborating with Sales and distributor sales teams, and advocating best clinical practices. The Clinical Specialist will provide clinical training and updates to the BD MDS team at local, regional, and national levels as required.

About the role

  • Liaise with Sales Executives to provide clinical and product education/training on BD Medical products.
  • Prepare and present clinically-oriented product training programs for hospitals.
  • Identify, select, and prioritize target accounts and key customers with sales and marketing.
  • Communicate market and competitor information to relevant BD personnel.
  • Build business relationships within hospital accounts by engaging in scientific exchange and developing “Best Practice” procedures.
  • Manage in-service processes as part of the conversion process.
  • Represent BD professionally and promote the full range of BD products.
  • Attend meetings, conferences, and exhibitions to promote BD’s company image and products.
  • Work with medical teams to communicate new product technical/scientific data and clinical applications.
  • Prepare and deliver technical and medical presentations at clinical workshops, seminars, and meetings.
  • Build relationships with key clinicians and opinion leaders to maintain awareness of best practices, trends, and procedures related to BD Medical Products.

Environmental and Compliance

  • Environmental Management Systems responsibilities include maintaining 14001 provisions, including recycling activities and proper use of equipment and facilities.
  • Anti-bribery responsibilities require reporting incidents or suspicions of bribery, complying with organizational instructions and anti-bribery policies (as analyzed in Annex A).

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree in general nursing or medical doctor with hands-on experience in critical care areas (Pharmacy or Medical Sciences). Professional nursing/clinical education experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High personal integrity and ethical standards.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in clinical roles in Pharma and/or Medical Companies is strongly preferred.

  • Intermediate level PC-literacy in MS Office
  • Driver’s license
  • Fluent in English
  • Willing to travel up to 75% of time
