To strengthen the technical team at our HQ, for the development, engineering, and supply of steel production plants, we are looking for a Safety Engineer.

Responsibilities

As a Safety Engineer you'll be involved in all phases of product development, from the commercial stage to machine commissioning and testing.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Execute/coordinate activities necessary to ensure product compliance with safety requirements;
  • Draft or supervise the drafting of Technical Files or Relevant Documentation;
  • For CE marking, prepare and collect all documentation required to validate activities leading to the issuance of the Declaration of Conformity/Incorporation;
  • Actively collaborate with the technical office to integrate machine safety during the design phase;
  • Propose new technical solutions in line with updates to company standards and applicable regulations worldwide;
  • Standardize consolidated solutions, disseminate them, and verify their application;
  • Support the sales department in preparing offer layouts and complete technical specifications;
  • Perform engineering evaluations and define cost estimates with sales representatives;
  • Actively contribute to integrating machine safety during the offer phase and consequently in the contract;
  • Support project management on product safety issues;
  • Define timelines for safety documentation/materials in accordance with document flow;
  • Assist in drafting technical specifications for purchasing “E” products;
  • For non-CE markets, prepare all documentation required to meet local regulations;
  • When necessary, assist the project manager during client meetings, clearly defining product safety aspects;
  • When necessary, support the Site Manager, together with the technical manager, to implement on-site safety measures;
  • Support the Manuals department regarding product safety;
  • Participate in training/information sessions organized by the technical management and coordination bodies.

Technical Requirements

  • Technical diploma or a Bachelor Degree in Engineering;
  • Knowledge of the principles of the Machinery Directive and/or other applicable standards (ATEX, PED, IEC);
  • Familiarity with Machinery Directive and other relevant international standards;
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in technical offices dealing with safety topics, preferably in the steel plant engineering sector;
