Overview

Oròbix is looking for a Fullstack Software Engineer to join our Manufacturing Business Unit.

About us: Orobix is an Italian tech company specialized in developing and managing the full lifecycle of artificial intelligence solutions, from design to deployment and monitoring. We are based in Bergamo and work with a team of around 30 professionals, including Orobix LIFE, a start-up focused on the agrifood sector. Our solutions support technicians and operators in improving quality, optimizing processes, and reducing operational costs, with applications ranging from manufacturing to energy and gaming. We have expanded into Generative AI, delivering safe and scalable enterprise solutions with a focus on risk management, ethics, and compliance.

Your role and responsibilities

As a Fullstack Software Engineer in the Manufacturing BU, you will ensure the development and delivery of AI-driven solutions and products that create tangible business impact for our clients. You will work closely with AI engineers to build end-to-end solutions, integrating software and hardware components with client processes. As an active member of the squad, you will contribute to sprint success, taking responsibility for software design and implementation, with emphasis on reproducibility, maintainability, and testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust backend systems for industrial applications.
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists to integrate AI algorithms into production-ready solutions for quality control and process optimization.
  • Support frontend development using React, with an interest in growing as a fullstack engineer.
  • Set up and configure industrial cameras and other sensors for data acquisition and monitoring.
  • Manage and maintain Windows and Linux systems, including operational and system-level tasks.
  • Contribute to the full software lifecycle, from design to deployment, including cloud deployment on Azure if applicable.
  • Actively contribute to the squad, supporting sprint goals and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Actively contribute to continuous improvement of team practices and industrial software solutions.

Required Skills

  • Solid backend development experience and understanding of system design principles.
  • Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle principles and best practices.
  • Strong experience with object-oriented languages like Python, C++, C# (not all required).
  • Previous experience with Linux-based operating systems, from their setup and initial configuration to operation and maintenance.
  • Experience in frontend development with React.
  • Experience with Docker and Docker-compose, to write and deploy containerized applications.
  • Curiosity, flexibility, and eagerness to learn.

The Following Are Considered a Plus

  • Experience with optical setups and industrial cameras (Dalsa, Basler).
  • Knowledge of cloud services (Azure).
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
  • Knowledge of Django rest framework to develop and maintain REST paradigm backend software.

Seniority

Professional experience: 3+ years in software development (fullstack or backend).

Education

Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
