Senior Telecommunications Engineer

Purpose of the Role

• Be a technical champion of TLC within the team.
• Supervise the TLC engineering activities related for the assigned projects.
• Develop technical alternative solutions guaranteeing high quality standards and profitability increase.

Primary responsibilities and duties

• Check or approve the main deliverables relevant to TLC issued by Instrumentation discipline : design criteria, technical specifications, mechanical data sheets, inspection data sheets, material requisitions and technical bid evaluations.
• Support the Chief Instrumentation Engineers of the various project in reviewing Vendor documentation relevant to TLC Packages.
• Perform basic design for TLC systems according to applicable codes.
• Define technical solutions for complex problems.
• Propose optimization / changes in order to minimize quantity / costs or optimize project schedule.
• Support Chief Engineers in reviewing Tender documentation and prepare clarification requests during bid phase.
• Provide support and guidance to less experienced colleagues.
• Promote transfer of knowledge through mentoring and training.
• Prepare if necessary Lesson learned.
• Participate to External engineering company Qualification for TLC.
• Prepare TLC training program.
• Participate to most critical FAT.

Core competencies

• I&C Engineering background
• Knowledge of main I&C international codes, standards and best engineering practices (ISA, IEC, IEEE, ATEX, NFPA; API etc.)
• Deep Knowledge of Industrial TLC Plant Security systems (CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion Detection)
• Deep Knowledge of Industrial TLC Plant Safety systems (PA / GA systems, Radio communications,)
• Deep Knowledge of Industrial TLC Plant Communication ( systems structural cabling, office network, telephone system)
• Knowledge of TLC communication protocols and networking
• Knowledge of SCADA systems (fiber base / radio / satellite)
• Knowledge of ATEX systems
• Knowledge of Field Instruments
• Knowledge of instrument installation and hook-up
• Knowledge of I&C field engineering

Seniority

• Long-standing experience in TLC Engineering in Oil&Gas / Petrochemical / Energy EPC projects (5-10 years)

Education

• Bachelor / Master Degree in Electronic or Telecommunications Engineering

Fluent written and spoken English
