We are seeking a dedicated R&D Chemist Heavy Equipment - Powder to support our Sherwin-Williams Team in Minerbio.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct analytical testing and development of new or updated formulas, applying foundational chemical knowledge and understanding of product lines and materials
  • Support site activities including quality control, formula transfers, and formula management within the ERP system
  • Collaborate with process teams to optimize formulas and enhance productivity
  • Perform quality investigations, including ARC analyses, and provide data-driven recommendations for formula improvements
  • Document test results, project findings, and technical data, exercising independent professional judgment
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects, supporting product development, manufacturing, and quality control
  • Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment while ensuring adherence to safety, regulatory, and departmental standards
  • Propose and implement technical solutions, improvements, and validation methods, occasionally guiding junior technicians.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or equivalent education and experience. Widespread technical experience is required for this level without a degree
  • Demonstrates knowledge of various technologies, instruments, and materials
  • Broad awareness of division business knowledge (including raw materials market, technology development/trends/brands/products, attributes, and competitors)
  • Understanding of fundamental professional chemistry principles and practices
  • Operating a variety of laboratory equipment
  • Performing basic professional formulating tasks
  • Ensuring compliance with department policies and procedures and applicable laws, rules, and regulations
  • Solving problems and recommending solutions
  • Prioritizing daily project tasks
  • Working with a basic understanding of the commercialization process
  • PC skills: Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); and other applicable applications
  • Willingness for occasional travel to customers or laboratories across Europe for product support and collaboration.
