Scientific Assistant - Food Consumption and Composition Data Management

Overview

We are looking for a Scientific Assistant - Food Consumption and Composition Data Management to work in the IDATA Unit.

Qualifications

• Excellent knowledge of English (C1 level);
• At least 1 year of experience in data collection and management;
• Knowledge in at least one of the following areas : food consumption, food composition, human nutrition, dietary surveys, food classification;
• Experience in writing scientific and / or technical documents (e.g. scientific publications, reports, project plans and reports, guidance documents);
• Behavioural competencies : Attention to details ; Work with others ; Focus on Stakeholder Needs ; Analysis and problem solving.

Assignment and Salary

Assignment : initial contract of 3 months, with possibility of extensions. Expected duration of assignment 24 months.

Salary : approx. €2259,00 per month before taxes.

Work modalities

Work modalities : office work is required on at least 2 days per week. Remote work is possible within 2 hours from Parma, Italy, for the remaining days.

Responsibilities

• The candidate is expected to support :
• activities for the preparation of the second cycle of food consumption data collection (EU Menu 2 project);
• activities related to the update of the EFSA European Comprehensive database;
• planning, coordinating, validating data collections of Food Consumption and Food Composition and supporting the IDATA scientific officer in charge of those;
• maintaining food classification / terminologies;
• activities related to the development of an open access food composition database.
