We are looking for a dynamic, results-oriented Area Manager to lead Outbound operations (collection, packaging, and shipping) in our distribution center. This role directly manages 50-100 associates and requires a balance between strategic thinking, operational execution, and people leadership.

This position will operate in a distribution center environment with exposure to varying temperatures depending on the season and location. Must be available to accommodate flexible layover needs, including night shifts and weekend rotations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and manage a team of 50-100 associates across multiple shifts
  • Drive operational excellence through the management of KPIs, including productivity, quality, and safety metrics
  • Implement and maintain standardized work processes to ensure consistent performance
  • Conduct daily shift meetings and communicate business updates to the team
  • Manage workforce planning and staffing to meet business demands
  • Lead problem solving initiatives using Lean/Six Sigma methodologies
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and workplace standards
  • Train and develop first-level associates and supervisors
  • Collaborate with support teams (HR, Safety, Training) to drive continuous improvement
  • Manage performance through data analysis and actionable insights

  • Resolve process bottlenecks
  • Manage inventory discrepancies

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
  • Can push and pull wheeled dollies loaded with products up to 100 pounds during shifts
  • Speak, write, and read fluently in English
  • Employee and performance management experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Kaizen and Lean methodology techniques
