Role Overview

We are seeking a highly driven Grants & Project Manager with a strong technical background, preferably in materials science, electrical engineering, or related fields, to lead Novac’s activities in funded R&D programs. The role combines proposal writing, international collaboration building, and project management across EU, national, and international frameworks. • Lead the writing and submission of proposals for R&D and innovation projects.
  • Manage ongoing funded projects, including planning, milestones tracking, reporting of activities, and financial/expense monitoring.
  • Coordinate with internal engineering, R&D, and administrative teams to ensure timely and compliant execution of all project obligations.
  • Support strategic decisions related to technology development and market alignment within funded programs.

Required Qualifications

  • MSc or PhD preferred in Materials Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Proven experience in grants, funded research programs, or project management roles.
  • Excellent command of English (spoken and written).
  • Ability and readiness to travel worldwide for events, consortium meetings, and project‑related activities.
  • Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating cross‑functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in batteries, supercapacitors, or energy‑storage technologies.
  • Additional languages beyond English.
  • Previous involvement in Horizon Europe, ESA, EIC, national calls, regional innovation programs, or similar frameworks.
  • Understanding of industrial R&D processes and TRL‑driven development.

What We Offer

  • A dynamic, innovative environment at the forefront of advanced energy storage.
  • Opportunities to work with leading international partners in aerospace, automotive, industrial, and mobility sectors.
  • Growth paths into senior roles in project management, funding strategy, or business development.
  • A young, fast‑scaling company where your impact will be tangible.

If you are excited by the idea of shaping the future of energy storage through international collaboration and advanced R&D, we would love to hear from you.
