Senior Solution Architect - ITS, GSI & ITS Vertical

Sales, Marketing and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small‑ and mid‑market accounts to enterprise‑level customers, including the public sector.

AWS Solutions Architects are trusted advisors who help customers solve large business challenges by designing and recommending scalable, flexible and resilient solutions.

In this role you will partner with customers early in their cloud journey to help them scale and grow, delivering visible and measurable impact on their growth ambitions.

Key Responsibilities

• Work directly with customers to accelerate their business outcomes and recommend best‑practice cloud architectures aligned with long‑term business needs.
• Drive technical solutions discussions, diving deep into details to solve complex problems and craft scalable, flexible, and resilient architectures.
• Scope and own customer engagements with clear, well‑defined objectives and success criteria.
• Work backwards from customers’ business needs to accelerate adoption of appropriate AWS technology.
• Define and execute strategy by engaging highly technical teams (Solutions Architects, Technical Account Managers, AWS professional services consultants and partners).
• Act as a thought leader, educating and sharing best practices through presentations, white papers, blogs, and workshops.
• Share the voice of the customer to influence the platform roadmap and proactively work within the organization to shape platform evolution.
• Serve as a key technical member of the Solutions Architecture team, influencing decisions across multiple domains to ensure customer success in building applications and services on AWS.

Day‑to‑day, solutions architects are experienced technologists with broad technical breadth and strong interpersonal skills. They work across SMB industries such as FSI, retail, IT & ITES, media, and entertainment, guiding customers to think differently and build elegant, transformative solutions.

As a Senior Solutions Architect, you will own the overall technical relationship between customers and AWS, making recommendations on security, cost, performance, reliability and operational efficiency. You will collaborate with account management, professional services, support, product teams and the AWS partner ecosystem.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 8+ years of specific technology domain experience (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
• 4+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructure.
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience.
• Experience working with software developers.
• Experience building complex software systems successfully delivered to customers, or experience in machine learning, data mining, information retrieval, statistics, or natural language processing.
