What You’ll Do
As a BMS Engineer, you’ll take ownership of the technical delivery on construction and engineering projects, from design coordination through to successful commissioning.
You’ll collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams to ensure all work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and review design documents, drawings, and technical submittals
- Support project handovers and evaluate value‑engineering opportunities
- Produce coordinated drawings across mechanical, electrical, and architectural systems
- Manage RFIs, material requisitions, purchase orders, and progress reports
- Liaise with design teams, contractors, and internal project teams
- Prepare method statements, risk assessments, and quality control documentation
- Inspect installations, walk down systems, and populate test packs
- Support and mentor junior engineers and graduates
What We’re Looking For:
- Degree in Building Services or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical qualification
- 4+ years’ experience in project engineering with a mechanical or BMS contractor
- Proven track record delivering projects in commercial, industrial, pharma, or data centre environments
- Strong technical and commercial awareness
- Excellent communication, coordination, and documentation skills
- Knowledge of Health, Safety & Environmental standards and compliance
- Ability to lead, problem‑solve, and drive project success
- Passion for innovation, quality, and continuous improvement

As a Technical Project Engineer, you will play an active role in shaping Caracol’s advanced engineering projects, contributing to the development and implementation of customized, high‑impact solutions for complex industrial applications.
You’ll work side by side with our R&D team, transforming ideas into real systems, from early design to on‑site commissioning. Your activities will include defining technical layouts, producing detailed engineering documentation, and supporting the integration of bespoke configurations that embody our commitment to innovation, precision, and quality.
Few examples of responsibilities:
- Support the development of technical layouts and engineering documentation
- Translate customer requirements into clear technical deliverables, under the supervision of senior engineers.
- Collaborate with suppliers and partners to collect technical data, evaluate feasibility, and ensure component compatibility.
- Prepare and update Bills of Materials (BOMs), assembly drawings, and other documentation to support installation and commissioning.
- Provide technical support during installation, testing and troubleshooting, especially for non‑standard or first‑of‑kind solutions.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 2–3 years of experience in product industrialization.
- Good knowledge of CAD software and mechanical drawing standards.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and assembly methods.

As a Senior Technical Project Engineer, you will play a key role in Caracol’s Technical Office, focusing on the development and delivery of customized technical solutions for complex industrial projects. You will work closely with the R&D team to define layout configurations, produce detailed technical documentation, and support the full lifecycle of bespoke systems, from initial concept to on‑site installation and commissioning. Your responsibilities will include translating customer‑specific requirements into manufacturable and scalable solutions, managing technical interfaces with suppliers and production partners, and ensuring that each configuration meets Caracol’s standards of quality, efficiency, and innovation. You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of internal workflows, technical standards, and documentation practices, supporting Caracol’s commitment to advanced manufacturing and custom industrial engineering.

- Develop and manage technical layouts and detailed engineering documentation for custom and special project solutions.
- Translate client requirements and project specifications into executable technical deliverables.
- Coordinate the Technical Office to define bespoke configurations and ensure technical feasibility.
- Select and interface with suppliers for mechanical and electrical components, evaluating technical compatibility and cost‑effectiveness.
- Supervise the creation of Bills of Materials (BOMs), assembly instructions, and all necessary documentation to support installation and commissioning.

- Provide technical support during installation, testing and troubleshooting, especially for non‑standard or first‑of‑kind solutions.
- Contribute to defining and improving internal design and documentation processes to enhance efficiency and traceability.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related technical fields.
- Proven experience (typically from 4 to 7 years) in product industrialization, manufacturing engineering, or custom technical solutions development.
- Proficiency in CAD software and strong understanding of technical drawing standards and layout design.
- Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials selection, and process optimization.
- Experience in managing engineering documentation (BOMs, technical files, layout drawings) for customized industrial systems.
- Familiarity with basic automation concepts and ability to interface with electromechanical components and systems.
- Understanding of electrical schematics and basic wiring/cablaggio elettrico requirements for industrial machinery.
- Familiarity with supplier interaction and technical purchasing support (component selection, feasibility assessment, RFQ).
- Problem‑solving mindset, with the ability to work collaboratively in cross‑functional teams and manage multiple custom projects.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to translate technical requirements across departments and to external partners.
- Previous experience in advanced manufacturing environments, automation, or additive manufacturing is a plus.
