About the Hotel

About the Job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Milan within the Events Department, the Events Manager is responsible for groups and events sales and operations and reports to the Hotel Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Support the company’s philosophy and culture through the Pillars of Legendary Quality Experiences, ensuring guest satisfaction and achievement of our mission statement.
  • Carry out site visits in accordance with company standards.
  • Take a sales‑oriented approach for every lead, customizing offers and maintaining a luxury, positive attitude.
  • Conduct weekly group/event meetings with the team and other departments.
  • Generate banquet event orders, group resumes, and business correspondence.
  • Maintain an active trace system for all assigned groups and compile the internal database, ensuring time efficiency and data accuracy per MO policies.
  • Obtain necessary approvals, permits, and insurance certificates for required events.
  • Contract business with approved vendors as appropriate.
  • Develop sales‑team training courses based on current performance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in groups, events, catering, and conference services management or event management, preferably in a luxury hotel setting and with knowledge of Milan F&B.
  • Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English and Italian.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule to accomplish all major responsibilities.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong team‑leader capabilities.
