Construction Mechanical Completion Engineer

The position

The Mechanical Completion Engineer reports to the Mechanical Completion Leader and, within a project, participates in the set‑up of the mechanical completion database. As a team member, the engineer develops training programs, provides feedback on issues related to Mechanical Completion, and collects lessons learned for the capitalization of knowledge derived from project experience.

Mechanical Completion Engineer ensures the execution of all aspects related to Mechanical Completion, both in Home Office and at Site.

Activities and main responsibilities

In home office

  • To set up construction / pre‑commissioning / commissioning master ITP models.
  • Co‑operate with the mechanical completion coordinator, Engineering and Commissioning team to ensure that all the deliverables required to build the Completion Database are in line with the contractual requirements.
  • To update in MILEMATE! the information prepared by the Engineering functions.
  • To ensure the set‑up of user account for the nominated person of Construction Quality, in agreement with ICT.

At site

  • To receive (by discipline supervisors or quality construction inspectors) the original punch list, recording them on the punch list record logbook.
  • To take care of the punch list progress, maintaining the updated report of the closed items, monitoring the status of pending priority punch lists in each subsystem and keeping Construction Management informed.
  • To monitor discipline completion, issuing the Discipline Acceptance Certificate according to the Handover Procedure when a discipline is completed within a subsystem.

Person specification

  • Education Level: high school diploma in technical disciplines.
  • Relevant work Experience: at least 3‑5 years of experience in the same position. Both home office and abroad experience are suitable.
  • Availability to be relocated abroad for project working‑period (12‑24 months).
  • Good English speaker. The knowledge of the language will be tested over the interview.
  • Good communication and management skills, possessing a high level of organizational ability.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing, fast‑paced environment.
  • Attention to details, self‑motivation and direction, with strong bias towards timely performance.
