Overview

Maire S.p.A. – a company listed on the Milan Stock Exchange, leading an engineering group operating in around 50 countries with approximately 50 active companies. It develops and implements innovative technologies supporting the energy transition and offers Sustainable Technology Solutions and Integrated E&C Solutions for fertilizers, hydrogen, CO₂ capture, fuels, chemicals, and polymers. It is seeking a Civil & Structural Concrete Engineer to join Tecnimont S.p.A., within the Civil & Structural function.

Key Activities & Responsibilities

The Civil & Structural Concrete Engineer is generally assigned to a project and is in charge of producing documents and deliverables assigned by the Civil Project Leader related to the Concrete discipline (cast-in situ and precast). They report to the Civil Project Leader or to the Concrete Specialist for the peculiarities of the project and to the Group Leader / Head of Department for man-hours assignment and quality of the deliverables.

In particular, main activities and duties will be:

  • To guarantee the quality of the generated deliverables and their compliance with the contractual and company standards, procedures and work instructions;
  • To cooperate with the Project Leader and Concrete Specialists to coordinate activities related to the Concrete discipline, regardless of the location and distribution of the engineering centers;
  • To manage design calculations, technical reports and specifications, to check drawings and documents relevant to reinforced concrete and/or precast concrete, on the basis given by the Group Leader, in agreement with the Civil Project Leader;
  • To integrate the Concrete work design on the basis of the project data received from other engineering disciplines as instructed by the Project Leader;
  • To check and approve Vendor’s documents (e.g., subcontractor construction design documents, particularly related to precast Subcontractors);
  • To guarantee assistance to the construction departments and site upon request, in reference to the area of competence, as per project needs and in coordination with the Project Leader;
  • To conduct technical training as per department needs and exchange experience with colleagues of the entire Tecnimont Group for new Design techniques;
  • To keep up-to-date with technical improvements of the discipline.

Personal Attributes / Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Civil engineering is preferred;
  • From 5 to 7 years of experience in concrete design/coordination, preferably in plant engineering companies in petrochemical, oil & gas, power or in a technical design office;
  • Good knowledge of European and international codes and standards;
  • Experience in precast and/or prestressed concrete structures;
  • Good knowledge of AutoCAD 2D drawings for modifying documents;
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Navisworks;
  • Knowledge of collaborative environments such as BIM360/ACC;
  • Fluent English (speaking and writing) is a must;
  • Availability to travel for short and long periods.

Plus / Preferred

  • Knowledge of FEM Civil & Structural Design Software (e.g., SAP2000, STAAD PRO);
  • Knowledge and use of Autodesk Revit;
  • Basic knowledge of Project Management;
  • International background.
