Overview

Senior Electrical Schematics Engineer role at Hitachi Rail. The position is based in Naples, Italy.

Accountabilities

  • Develop, integrate, and document electric design using computer-aided engineering tools.
  • Size electrical lines with optimization of equipment cabling to reduce assembly time.
  • Analyze specifications to identify details that define a working plan for the customer, starting from the information provided, and elaborate feasibility.
  • Definition of the conceptual solution and architecture of the Electrical System, based on requirements and vehicle configuration.
  • Verify and ensure traceability of requirements using DOORS.
  • Support the purchasing department during the procurement phase of materials and subsystems.
  • Support industrial engineering and production during the vehicle assembly phase.
  • Support other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers, and customers throughout the product lifecycle handled in Global Product Lifecycle Management (GPLM).
  • All other responsibilities allocated from Reporting Manager.

Required Skills/Knowledge

  • Proven electrical design experience in electro-mechanical industries (preferred Railway Domain).
  • Degree in Electrical / Electrotechnical Engineering.
  • Excellent ability in electrical schematic and drawings creation.
  • Knowledge of computer-aided electrical engineering tools; E3 series Zuken preferred, or See Electrical Expert tool.
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Visio, Access).
  • Knowledge of electrical manufacturing processes.
  • Team-oriented with strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and communication skills.
  • Italian mother tongue; English language (multi-cultural environment) with at least C1 level.
  • Ability to manage and plan tasks independently and in a team; ability to analyze business requirements and engage with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Willingness to stay up-to-date with technology and industry practices.

Education/Qualifications

Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical background.

Languages

Good knowledge of written and spoken English; Italian native language is mandatory.
