This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2026.

As a Special Needs Education Assistant you will, under teacher direction, assist in the delivery of education programs and in promoting a supportive and inclusive learning environment. The successful applicant will work with students with behavioural or high needs, including students on the autism spectrum, physical disabilities, mental and health conditions. You will ideally be a highly competent and experienced Education Assistant with a passion for working with students with special needs. The priorities and goals of this position are to assist students to reach their full potential through the development of their academic, physical, and social skills.
The successful applicant will ideally possess strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills which will be used to develop and promote the school’s values, ethos and priorities across the school community. The successful applicant should possess the ability to provide feedback on education and specialised programmes, as well as participate in the evaluation process to ensure learning outcomes are met. Effective communication skills are highly valued in this role, particularly with the feedback processes and, under teacher direction, liaison with caregivers or parents on student progress.
In this role you will collaborate and work in a strong team‑based environment, contributing your knowledge and expertise to support our students to achieve their best. This may be under general supervision or autonomously.
