RINA is currently recruiting for a Management System Certification Scheme Leader to join its offices in Bologna, Genoa, Rome, or Milan within the Certification Market Development Division.

Key Accountabilities

  • Regulatory Compliance Expertise: Have a deep understanding of European Union (EU) or Certification Body regulations, directives, and industry safety standards applicable to specific products, services, or systems.
  • Stay updated with relevant industry standards, regulations, and guidelines to ensure certification schemes align with current requirements.
  • Scheme Development and Management: Develop, implement, and manage certification schemes with clear criteria and procedures.
  • Team Management: Support and train certification professionals, including engineers, inspectors, and technical experts.
  • Assessment and Auditing: Oversee product, service, or system assessments and audits, including documentation review and on-site inspections.
  • Certification Decision-Making: Make certification decisions based on assessment and audit results.
  • Quality Control: Maintain a robust quality control system to ensure process integrity.
  • Customer Relations: Engage with manufacturers and clients, providing guidance and maintaining positive relationships.
  • Market Surveillance and Compliance Monitoring: Collaborate with authorities and industry bodies to monitor market compliance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Regularly evaluate and improve certification processes.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Keep detailed records and reports, prepare submissions to regulatory bodies.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify and mitigate risks related to non-compliance.
  • Industry Collaboration: Work with industry associations and standards organizations to stay informed and aligned with industry developments.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Data Management: Maintain comprehensive records and reports related to certification activities.
  • Training and Development: Provide training to junior and mid-level staff.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering (General or Aerospace)

Mission

Ensure products, services, or systems meet international, national, EU, accreditation, and industry safety and conformity standards.

Qualifications

  • English proficiency at Level B2
  • 1-3 years of experience in certification and conformity assessment
  • Experience managing certification schemes and leading teams
  • Knowledge of certification schemes, auditing, regulatory frameworks, and market needs
  • Ability to evaluate compliance data and make certification decisions
  • Experience managing certification projects and stakeholder engagement
  • Knowledge of ISO9001 and EN9100 standards; optional knowledge of other QMS schemes (e.g., IRIS 4.0, ISO13485)
  • Optional: AA (Aerospace Auditor) qualification for EN9100 standards
