Sales/Commercial Engineer – Blackstone Industrial Services

The Sales and Commercial Engineer is an expert of rotating equipment maintenance in Oil and Gas, Chemical and Petrochemical applications, life cycle, and market in selected countries. They possess a strong technical background in reciprocating and centrifugal compressors, pumps, gas and steam turbines, and other rotating equipment. With a strong market view and customer knowledge, they bring robust project management and commercial operation skills to support business development, fulfillment, and execution. They will lead commercial activities, both transactional and on special projects with high technical content, support sales growth by driving order generation, and help develop presence and strategy with new customers and territories.

Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial and sales activities for assigned customers and/or territories, with emphasis on high‑technical‑content projects such as upgrades, conversions, modifications, and revamps.
  • Coordinate and develop proposals, quotations, and technical solution packages in collaboration with global commercial and technical teams.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through technical consultations, commercial discussions, and ongoing project support.
  • Support and/or lead contract negotiations, commercial risk assessments, and agreement finalization.
  • Serve as the primary customer entry point for technical support, engineered solutions, and project‑related coordination.
  • Support project execution when required, ensuring alignment between customer expectations and internal delivery teams.
  • Assist in gathering operational data for equipment troubleshooting and root cause analysis activities.
  • Provide regular reporting on order intake, pipeline development, and sales forecasts.
  • Participate in internal training and development programs to maintain technical and commercial proficiency.
  • Maintain flexibility in work schedule to meet customer needs.

Education & Experience

  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline (MBA preferred).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in maintenance services in oil and gas/chemical/petrochemical environments, technical advisory, sales, and commercial roles on rotating equipment.
  • Strong technical background in rotating equipment and auxiliaries, with a focus on operations and maintenance.
  • English speaking and good command of French.
  • Strong communication, self‑starting/entrepreneurial attitude.
  • Established relationships in the country with local customers.
  • Knowledge of the local market.
  • Proficient in MS Office; knowledgeable on Sales Force.com.
  • Authorized to work in Italy.
