Sales Director - Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Travel across South Europe territory as required
  • Create and execute strategic plans to reach sales targets and expand customer base
  • Sell solutions into major retailers across the region, achieving/exceeding sales targets via annual subscriptions
  • Understand, learn, and deliver our proposition; communicate value through proposals and presentations
  • Understand category-specific landscapes and trends
  • Maintain an effective sales team through recruiting, onboarding, and training; monitor and appraise performance
  • Achieve sales targets while ensuring contracts are 'good business' with clear delivery expectations
  • Build pipeline in collaboration with business development, marketing, and advisors; set priorities and contribute content for accounts
  • Maximize networking and marketing opportunities; attend industry events and conferences
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and activity reports

The Person - Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, and Experience

  • Experience at a B2B technology provider (software or hardware) for stores
  • Proven sales experience in meeting/exceeding targets
  • Ability to communicate and influence at all organizational levels, including C-level
  • Experience as head of sales, developing client-focused solutions
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in business development for the retail or CPG sector, with understanding of Food, Drug, & Mass sectors
  • Experience implementing solutions into Retailers is valuable
  • Ability to understand complex issues and develop solutions; business savvy with technology applications
  • Creative in identifying sales opportunities; strategic and execution skills
  • Ability to build and develop strong client relationships
  • High energy, positive outlook, and strong work ethic
