We are looking for a Product Compliance Specialist who can research product regulations and develop and implement related compliance actions, in particular to better serve our IT customers. This position requires in-depth legal research into a variety of complex IT, EU and international regulations.

To succeed in this role you must have a cooperative attitude, great organization, and effective communication. The role will require that you be self-motivated to learn the operations and will involve both independent and team work in a fast-paced environment that is constantly changing. You also need great judgment and a desire to learn and be curious.

Key job responsibilities

  • Help determine the availability of product types (what should be prohibited for legal or safety reasons)
  • Work with regulators and respond to their inquiries about products sold in Amazon's online store
  • Partner with business and operational teams to set and implement compliance controls
  • Monitor product regulatory developments in the EU and IT
  • Drive resolution of difficult compliance solutions and escalations with multiple stakeholders

A day in the life

As an Associate Compliance Specialist on the RP Legal team, you will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and implementing product regulatory compliance controls that impact the products sold in Amazon's online stores in the EU. You will advise legal and business teams on your findings and proposed actions. It's a high judgment position that requires nimbleness and insistence upon very high standards. You will engage with several internal and external stakeholders to drive initiatives to completion. You will also manage escalated selling partner appeals and requests from other teams to improve our controls.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience as compliance professional, contracts management, paralegal, or other comparable experience within a law firm, legal department, legal education in IT or background in IT law
  • Fluent in Italian and English
  • Bachelor’s Degree

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Law degree
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlines
  • Additional EU language is advantageous
