SMS group S.p.A. is a company of the German group SMS, a worldwide leading company for plant and machinery manufacturing in the steelmaking and non-ferrous material industry, with approximately 14,400 employees globally.

SMS group S.p.A. is an Italian company with over 500 employees across three locations: Tarcento (Udine), San Donato Milanese (Milan), and Genoa. It specializes in producing innovative, turn-key plants such as hot and cold rolling mills for flat products, process lines, reheating furnaces, heat treatment lines, rolling mills for long products, meltshops, and continuous casting machines.

We are seeking a

Project Manager Sales SIE HANDELN

  • Represent SMS group towards customers and manage internal project relationships;
  • Conduct regular project discussions and negotiations with customers and consortium members, documenting outcomes;
  • Lead core team meetings, documenting results;
  • Act as the overall sales project leader, functioning as an "entrepreneur inside the company";
  • Understand project goals, requirements, and Bid Budget baseline;
  • Define project strategy (Winning Strategy) in collaboration with the Core Sales Team and Project Owner Sales;
  • Manage the Core Sales Team;
  • Allocate the project budget (Bid Budget) approved for each stage;
  • Implement target costing based on project costing/results (total/unit costs);
  • Negotiate as the official contact point with customers and contract partners, handling communication with the Commercial and Technical Managers until contract signing;
  • Organize meetings involving the Core Sales Team or contract partners as needed;
  • Follow travel guidelines and obtain necessary approvals;
  • Request all relevant project data and information;
  • Possess written power of attorney for contract negotiations, legally binding only when signed by authorized representatives of the legal entity.

SIE WISSEN

  • Graduate or Bachelor/Master in Mechanical Engineering or similar;
  • 3-4+ years in Technical Sales within complex plant manufacturing companies;
  • Experience analyzing customer requests and preparing technical offers;
  • Commercial skills to develop competitive solutions and strategies;
  • Proficiency in Mechanical Technical drawings; basic knowledge of Media systems, Electrical, and Automation packages;
  • Strong coordination skills to manage proposal teams;
  • Willingness to travel worldwide;
  • Fluent in English; German is a plus;
  • Proficient in Office Suite (including Project) and basic SAP knowledge;
  • Drawing tools (AutoCAD, Inventor, Creo, etc.) are advantageous but not required.
