Bogie Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Work in cooperation with the ISR team to improve and optimize the Maintenance Plan and reduce the LCC (Life Cycle Cost).
  • Support Operation teams and RAM data analysis team.
  • Manage the Reliability Growth issues.
  • Prepare Calculations Sheets and Technical Reports supporting the Safety Analysis (402/2013) in case of design modifications.
  • Analyze and interpret test results, maintenance data and REX for issue investigation and/or Maintenance Plan optimization.
  • Cooperate with Original Equipment Manufacturer for component improvement/modification.
  • Support Troubleshooting in root cause definition.
  • Support to the Bogie Workshops in Nola and Savigliano during their activity for the Service Projects.

With a strong mechanical skill he/she will follow all the topic for the Bogie and its sub-components, in particular for:

  • Wheelsets and their components (axlebox and bearings; axles; wheels)
  • Suspensions
  • Bogie frame
  • Gearboxes and their sub-components (bearings; gearwheels; labyrinths)
  • Cardan shafts
  • Wheel flange lubrication systems

Traction Motor mechanical aspects will also be part of his/her technical perimeter.

Throughout his job he has to ensure the efficiency, safety, and availability of railway bogies and associated mechanical systems through preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities optimization, guaranteeing compliance with railway and Alstom standards and contributing to continuous process improvement.

Knowledge & Experience

Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related fields.

Knowledge of Railway mechanical systems (bogies, axles, suspensions, brakes) or Mechanical System in general.

Knowledge of Principles of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical engineering.

Ability to read technical drawings (Able to draw with CAD program is a preferential).

Knowledge of Railway Normative and safety standards is a plus.

More than 2 years in Railways engineering is appreciated.

English & Communication skills.
