Laboratory Test Engineer – ABB

This position reports to: R&D Team Lead.

Your Role And Responsibilities

Working in a brand-new Agile organization, you will execute tests on different devices, investigate and resolve critical product issues, optimize processes, and verify product compliance.

In this role, you will analyze and document test results for use in the development of new products, define details, test sequences, testing methods and procedures, and equipment and instrumentation to be used.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Planning and implementing test plan, assigning the right priority and overseeing the allocated resources.
  • Training new team members in test operations and processes.
  • Preparing, reviewing, managing and updating documents and databases.
  • Proposing improvements to test techniques based on experience and knowledge of trends and equipment.
  • Certification of electronic devices and collaboration with external laboratories.
  • Certification of industrial protocol of communication, verification of application and coordination and supervision.
  • Ensuring that prototypes are correctly assembled, tests are correctly performed, and activities are thoroughly reported.

Qualifications For The Role

  • You hold at least a bachelor’s degree in electronics or electrical engineering.
  • Ability to build up a complex system with protocol of communication.
  • Knowledge of instrumentation and electronic/electrical systems.
  • Qualification in executing build-up of set up and system of testing.
  • Collaborative, solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills.
  • Comfortable communicating in Italian and English.
