Quality Assurance Engineer I (Full Time Contractor), Ops and Transportation
Quality Assurance Engineers at Amazon test applications and products at the user level and code level, both manually and with automated tools. QAEs are not pure black‑box testers; they understand software internals, debug problems using log files, and write automated tests with scripting tools and user‑level automation tools. They are excellent individual contributors capable of taking up tasks from start to completion with minimal help. QAEs are responsible for understanding the domain and product in detail, creating test strategy and planning, writing test cases, driving test‑case sign‑off processes with stakeholders, contributing to code‑level unit tests, test execution, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand the domain and product in detail to develop test strategies and plans
- Write and maintain test cases and test data sets
- Drive test‑case sign‑off processes with stakeholders
- Contribute to code‑level unit tests, automated test scripts, and test execution
- Report test results and facilitate defect triage
- Collaborate with development and product teams to ensure quality
Basic Qualifications
- 1+ years of quality assurance engineering experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience in manual testing
- Experience in automation testing
- Experience in UI and API automation testing (Selenium/SOAPUI)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in API & mobile testing
- Experience designing and planning test conditions, test scripts, and test data sets to ensure appropriate and adequate coverage and control
- Experience in front‑end testing
- Experience in test automation
