The selected candidate will join the client’s embedded software engineering team, working on developing new cards and features for existing optical DWDM and ROADM platforms. Responsibilities include supporting software development tasks related to new system features for the next generation of optical transport systems.

The candidate will be expected to deliver fully developed and qualified software features for integration into the main codebase. They will collaborate with other teams, supporting the Test team responsible for System Validation, and the HW/FW team responsible for hardware platforms and BSPs. This is an excellent opportunity to work with an experienced team that influences product development and performance in optical transport network technology.

We are open to evaluating both junior/graduates and experienced professionals, with responsibilities tailored to their level of expertise.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate on SW requirements and specifications.
2. Contribute to SW architecture design.
3. Develop embedded SW in Linux environment.
4. Perform testing and quality verification of code.
5. Support HW/SW integration.
6. Assist in System Validation testing activities.

Mandatory Requirements:

• Master’s degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, or telecommunications.
• Knowledge of embedded SW design and implementation processes.
• Knowledge of multi-threading and task synchronization.
• Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming.
• Proficiency in C, C++, and Python programming languages.
• Good knowledge of Linux OS, including user space coding.
• Experience with Git and GitLab.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Excellent teamwork skills and ability to work in multicultural teams.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Flexibility and openness to change.

Nice to Have:

• Previous experience in telecommunication companies, preferably in DWDM optics.
• Fluent in written and spoken Italian.
• Knowledge of verification, emulation, and debugging methodologies and tools.

Workplace: Partially on-site in Vimercate (MB) and partially in smart working mode. Quotas to be agreed.
