Power Electronics Engineer

Position: Power Electronics Engineer

Location: Montecchio Maggiore (VI), Italy, with occasional travel to Cambridge, UK

Join our Electronics Center of Excellence at Xylem, supporting water management solutions through power electronics innovation. We design custom variable frequency motor drives focusing on efficiency, usability, and reliability for water applications.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Design, test, and verify electronic products and prototypes for single-phase and three-phase power supplies up to 1000 V.
2. Create schematic and PCB layouts using Altium Designer.
3. Simulate analog signal chains with SPICE.
4. Design and prototype magnetic components.
5. Perform EMC/EMI testing and debugging.
6. Ensure product compliance with standards.
7. Collaborate with firmware, physics, and mechanical engineers.
8. Generate design, test, and verification documentation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Electronic Engineering with specialization in Power Electronics.
• At least 2 years of experience in power electronics design.
• Excellent command of English and Italian languages.
• Strong knowledge of digital and analog circuit design.
• Experience with design tools such as Altium Designer, OrCAD, PADS.
• Knowledge of gate drive design, circuit protection, analog filters, and signal processing.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of motor control theory (synchronous and asynchronous).
• Practical experience with EMC/EMI testing and debugging.
• Magnetic component design, specifications, and testing.
• Experience with PFC boost, fly-back, and half/full-bridge converters.
• High-level analytical skills and solid understanding of energy engineering principles.
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols.

Employment Type: Permanent, full-time. Freelance applications are not considered.
