As a software engineer, you’ll be responsible for writing, testing, and deploying software to production. You’ll also run small PoCs to test concepts and improve software development practices.

Security compliance is crucial for Enigmatic Smile and Fidel API, so adherence to PCI and ISO policies is mandatory for all requests and actions.

Enigmatic Smile is a fintech scale-up with Fidel API operating as a standalone unit within the Engineering Team. Fidel API is a distributed team based in Lisboa, Portugal. Our global customers have diverse requirements that our platform supports. We aim to enable consumers, retailers, rewards publishers, and banks worldwide to enhance customer experiences.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Developing high-quality, scalable, and robust software
  • Conducting code reviews and providing constructive feedback
  • Maintaining code quality with automated testing
  • Participating in project planning and decision-making
  • Contributing to continuous improvement in technical and process areas
  • Ensuring security compliance, including PCI DSS and ISO27001 standards
  • Owning systems for long-term maintainability, scalability, and reliability

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Experience in designing and developing scalable, high-performance software solutions
  • Proficiency with Git and GitHub workflows
  • Knowledge of common development languages and tools
  • Experience with both NoSQL/Document and SQL databases
  • Problem-solving mindset
  • Collaborative team spirit

Skills preferred by the team:

  • Experience with AWS services like Lambda, CloudFormation, DynamoDB, API Gateway, and Step Functions
  • Familiarity with NodeJS, JavaScript, and TypeScript frameworks
