Backend Engineer (Python / Django) Remote (locations listed below) | Full time | Permanent
A fast-growing fintech scale-up is looking for an experienced backend engineer to help shape the future of its financial platform. With recent backing from top-tier institutional investors and a track record of supporting thousands of businesses worldwide, the company provides fast, reliable solutions that power B2B growth.
You’ll be joining a cross-functional, globally distributed engineering team, building out core financial services and infrastructure that directly impact customer experience and business outcomes.
What you'll be doing
- Building and scaling backend services using Python, Django or similar frameworks.
- Designing and maintaining clean, well-structured REST APIs.
- Working with relational databases (ideally PostgreSQL) and designing performant schemas.
- Writing clean, tested, production-ready code.
- Collaborating closely with product, data, and design teams to ship new features.
- Monitoring application performance and addressing reliability or security concerns.
- Participating in code reviews and contributing to architectural discussions.
- Supporting continuous improvement across the team.
What we're looking for
- 3+ years of backend engineering experience (multiple levels available), ideally with Python / Django.
- Deep knowledge of API design, microservices, and scalable systems.
- Experience working with SQL databases and ORMs.
- Familiarity with cloud services like AWS.
- Comfort with Git, testing frameworks (e.g., pytest), and CI/CD workflows.
- A strong grasp of security best practices and data protection principles.
- An effective communicator (fluent in English), a collaborative team player, and someone who thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
