Marketing & Events Coordinator / Assistant Director

SAIS Europe, the European campus of Johns Hopkins SAIS, is seeking a skilled professional to support its dynamic program of public events, conferences, and institutional communications.

This full-time onsite role is ideal for someone who is organized, creative, and excited to work in a fast-paced international academic environment. Fluency in English and Italian is essential.

The position serves as the operational hub for events and as a key partner to the Director of Marketing & Communications—helping plan and deliver high-profile events, manage guests and VIPs, coordinate vendors, produce event materials, and contribute to digital content, social media, and broader outreach efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate a busy annual calendar of events and speaker engagements
  • Oversee logistics, guest management, budgets, vendors, and student staff
  • Create or coordinate event materials (programs, posters, signage, digital assets)
  • Support social media, newsletters, web content, and multimedia storytelling
  • Assist with press outreach and brand-aligned communications
