AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.

We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles.

As a Data Center Construction Manager, you will be a part of a creative, diverse team tasked with solving fascinating problems constructing Amazon Data Centers. Our data centers are industry-leading examples of energy efficient, cost-effective designs.

Key job responsibilities include construction project management and oversight of construction related activities, direct interface with construction general contractors, conducting negotiations with general contractors, creating construction project scope and request for proposals, financial analysis of construction, and construction project quality control.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience directly related to the design or construction of data centers or critical infrastructure or large-scale mechanical and electrical plants
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or an equivalent engineering science OR 4+ years of related construction management experience in lieu of a degree
  • 5+ years of experience in construction management of large, complex projects involving large-scale mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) plants
  • 4+ years of general contractor and vendor management experience
  • 4+ years of experience constructing electrical engineering systems including large scale power distribution/generation gear and constructing mechanical engineering systems including cooling systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of engineering documentation, electrical diagrams and standard operating procedures
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering principles including switchgear, UPS, transformers, and circuit breakers
  • Experience in quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance), or experience in solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business
  • Experience defining data center system-level architecture, documenting performance and equipment requirements, creating and communicating conceptual designs, and creating and maintaining project documentation
  • Experience with large scale mechanical and power systems
