Responsibilities

• Leading and managing a team of engineers: hiring, training, and managing a team of virtualization professionals; setting goals and objectives, providing feedback, coaching, and developing team members, and managing their performance.
• Developing Virtualization strategies: analyzing current systems, identifying gaps, and designing solutions that align with Siemens Healthineers goals and objectives to optimize existing processes.
• Product development: designing, architecting, and developing virtualization services to support Siemens Healthineers applications; analyzing business requirements and designing related services/products accordingly.
• Managing Virtualization budgets: monitoring expenses, identifying cost savings, and managing vendor contracts to stay within budget constraints.
• Ensuring compliance: ensuring Hybrid cloud Virtualization services comply with Siemens Healthineers IT compliance system.
• Managing operations: handling day-to-day operations, responding to incidents, and implementing change requests.
• Documentation: developing and maintaining product documentation such as architectures, SOPs, and system designs.
• Collaboration: working with other architects, DevOps engineers, and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless deployment of Hybrid cloud solutions from development to production.
• Staying current with emerging technologies: researching and evaluating new virtualization solutions, attending conferences, and networking with professionals in the field.

• A proven track record in designing and building virtualization solutions in both on-premises and cloud environments.
• Expertise in requirement engineering, translating business language into technical solutions.
• Experience working in an agile environment, and the ability to scope and define work to provide transparency into progress and outcomes.
• Ability to interact with customers and stakeholders on eye level, establishing trustful relationships, and managing timelines end-to-end.
• Technical leadership and people management experience leading a team of 8-10 technical experts.

Required skills to have for the success of this role

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Overall 15+ years of IT experience with the most recent 10 years in virtualization platforms.
• Knowledge of virtualization platforms: VMware vSphere, vCloud Director, NSX-T, VMware Cloud Foundation, Microsoft Hyper-V, Azure Local (Azure Stack HCI), Azure VMware Solution, RedHat OpenShift, Proxmox.
• Experience managing and leading technical teams.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with ITIL and IT service management principles.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or Google Cloud is a plus.
