To all early-career professionals, do you want to have an immersive research experience at one of the leading interdisciplinary research institutions of European outreach? Well, here is an exciting opportunity. Applications are open for the UNESCO Chair Fellowship 2026. A prestigious digital fellowship program hosted by the UNESCO Chair in Interdisciplinary Anticipation and Global-Local Transformation at Eurac Research in Bolzano, Italy, offers an incredible opportunity to EU nationals to collaborate with the interdisciplinary team at the UNESCO Chair and conduct intensive research focused on global-local transformation and future literacy.

The UNESCO Chair fellowship focuses on addressing social, political, and economic challenges and exploring ways to tackle them through UNESCO tools and approaches. A flexible digital fellowship compatible with ongoing university studies and non-related work commitments. It will be held online, with a possibility of 1-2 visits to the Research Center in Bolzano, Italy. UNESCO chair is inviting applications from applicants holding a minimum first-level university degree with an interdisciplinary component and interest in UNESCO.

The fellowship is accepting applications from applicants meeting the following criteria:

  • UNESCO Chair fellowship is open to citizens of the EU nationals
  • Applicants must hold a minimum bachelor’s degree with an interdisciplinary component
  • Proficiency in English both verbal and written
  • Applicants must have excellent organizational skills with an interest in UNESCO’s focus areas
  • The fellowship highly encourages women and individuals from underrepresented groups to apply
  • It’s a paid fellowship program, providing compensation for work
  • Flexible digital fellowship compatible with study or work commitments
  • Conduct research under the supervision of UNESCO experts
  • Networking opportunities with international interdisciplinary teams
  • Fellows have the opportunity to publish research findings
  • Deliver lectures or seminars to increase visibility with academia
