Sustainability Management Specialist — Biomethane | Milan, Italy

AD Energy Recruitment is supporting a leading player in the renewable energy sector as they strengthen their Production & Operations function. We are seeking a Sustainability Management Specialist to take a pivotal role in ensuring the certification and ongoing compliance of biomethane plant sustainability systems.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of sustainability, operations, and regulatory compliance — and wants to contribute directly to the growth and integrity of renewable energy assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage relationships with relevant Control Bodies and certification authorities
• Collect, analyse, and archive operational and sustainability data to support regulatory requirements
• Prepare all necessary documentation for authorities, certification bodies, and suppliers
• Work closely with Plant Managers on input/output matrices, register completion, and production summary reports
• Maintain, update, and continuously improve the Sustainability Management System
• Review and update procedures required to maintain the biomethane sustainability certificate
• Oversee register control and prepare summary reporting
• Manage documentation and compliance tasks linked to incentive schemes, coordinating with authorities and suppliers
• Support monitoring plan compliance across operating plants

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in similar roles within industrial or production environments
• Strong understanding of sustainability topics and product certification processes
• Advantageous: experience implementing or documenting management systems (quality, environment, sustainability)
• Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills
• Proactive, motivated, and eager to learn
• High attention to detail; structured and flexible working approach
• Strong team player who contributes actively to shared goals
• Excellent written and spoken English; additional languages are a plus

Location & Travel

• Milan-based role
• Availability for short business trips when required
