Attend kick-off meetings with Jord International (JI) / Jord Malaysia (JM) and review specs and procedures for assembly/testing needs.
Identify bottlenecks, workspace, crane/lifting needs, welder qualifications, and plan schedules.
Drawing, Documentation & Procedure:
Expedite General Arrangement/assembly drawings and Issued for Construction (IFC) procedures (hydrotest, expansion, leak test, etc.).
Clarify Technical Queries (TQs) and deviations with QA/QC and JI's Project Manager.
Ensure approval of all required procedures and welding documentation.
Procurement & Material Coordination:
To raise POR (Purchase Order Request) based on drawing and Project specification.
Follow up on free-issued & bought out items (from JI) and JM-procured materials (structures, tools, spares).
Ensure timely Goods Release Note issuance, resolve QC comments, and coordinate with procurement/vendors.
Assembly & Fabrication Oversight:
Monitor delivery of headers box, painting item, and structural readiness.
Ensure Tube to tube sheet welding, tube trimming, tube expansion, and inspections are done per Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) and schedule.
Coordinate with the production team and plan for extra shifts if needed to avoid delays.
Testing & Inspection:
Arrange Third Party Inspector /Authorized Inspector for inspections, submit Notification of Inspections (NOI) and update inspection calendars.
Monitor and involvement of hydrotest, flushing, drying, Non-destructive examination (NDE), Factory Acceptance Test (internal and official), and client punch list closeouts.
Packing, Dispatch & Logistics:
Ensure proper disassembly, packing per requirements, and accurate packing/shipping documents.
Coordinate with JI and client logistics, dispatch, and follow up Inspection & Release Notice (IRN) issuance.
Submit Manufacturer Data Record (MDR) within 2 weeks of IRN.
Meetings & Coordination:
Attend daily/weekly project meetings, address ad hoc issues proactively, and lead team discussions for quick resolutions.
Cost & Compliance Management:
Raise NCRs or over budget events when necessary.
Follow Jord's Integrated Management System and ASME systems and handle additional scope via Variation Order and Purchase Order revisions.
To update Job Sky costing on a weekly basis and attend monthly Sky Cost meeting with JI.
Skills And Experience
Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, Engineering (Mechanical), Engineering (Industrial) or equivalent
Thorough knowledge of engineering practices (Boiler making, Metal Fabrication, Welding, Fitting & Machining)
Experience in the manufacture of Air-Cooled Heat Exchangers, pressure vessels etc and the relevant code
Minimum 7 years of experience in project management for steel fabrication industry or in the related field is required for this position
Proven experience in managing high-value projects from inception to completion.
Strong knowledge of construction processes, contracts, and regulatory requirements.
Attention to details, strong teamwork spirit and positive working attitude
Proficiency in Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, Primavera, and other project management tools.
Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
