TRAVEL DESIGN & BOOKINGS ASSISTANT
APPRENDISTATO CONTRACT
Our ideal candidate has completed a Travel Design & Bookings & Operations course or has prior experience with a tour operator / travel agency or DMC. You will primarily work on Italy-based customised itineraries for private clients and may also work on the UK & Ireland, Spain & Portugal, France & Greece at various stages. This position is fully remote and you will be working from home.
JOB DESCRIPTION
This role will involve Travel Design and Bookings & Operations. Note: you will not perform these roles concurrently; you will switch between them for periods of time based on seasonality and business needs.
As a Travel Designer you will design accurate, curated itineraries for clients and be actively involved in the sales process, including communicating with the client via email and telephone. You will have a sales budget to achieve.
As a Bookings & Operations assistant, you will be responsible for all aspects of bookings and for maintaining the client relationship from the time their booking is confirmed through departure. You will also manage supplier relationships.
Key tasks
- As a Travel Designer you are responsible for the creation of accurate, thoughtful itineraries, cultivating client relationships and achieving your sales targets.
- As a Bookings & Operations assistant you will manage client relationships from booking to departure. This includes:
- Dealing with emergencies
- Checking that clients have everything before their arrival
- Communicating with clients during their tours to provide reconfirmation and any last information
- Booking any type of service (transfers, tickets, hotels, activities, guides, etc.) and reconfirming with suppliers and hotels prior to tour commencement
- Following up supplier invoices & liaising with the accounts department
- Itinerary checks: timings / meeting points / contact details for services entered into our itinerary system & confirmed with clients and double checked with suppliers
Who you are
- You have an almost maniacal attention to detail and can work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- You’re not afraid to pick up the phone and speak to clients & suppliers
- You love the sales process and excel at understanding client needs and closing the business
- You have a C1 level of written & spoken English
- You have a C1 / 2 level of written & spoken Italian
- You work well in a team but can work independently & make quick, smart decisions to resolve problems
- You work well under pressure and can multi-task and prioritise your workload
- You are not afraid to ask questions and contribute new ideas; at Luxe we value initiative
