Baron Philippe de Rothschild S.A. - Sales Area Manager (German and Austrian Market)
Baron Philippe de Rothschild S.A. manages three classified growths in the Pauillac appellation, including the illustrious Château Mouton Rothschild. It produces and sells high-quality branded wines sourced from various partner winegrowers, which it then blends, matures, and bottles, notably the famous Mouton Cadet. The company operates two distinct lines of business—Estates and branded wines—united under a single management committed to excellence.
We are seeking a German and Austrian Sales Area Manager, based in Germany, reporting to the Export Area Director for Eastern Europe, Africa, Middle East, and Global Travel Retail.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Oversee the development of Baron Philippe de Rothschild’s strategic brands (Mouton Cadet, Escudo Rojo, Mapu) in collaboration with our distribution partners in the markets.
- Lead and motivate our teams and partners to develop these brands effectively.
- Ensure the successful execution of the annual business plan, including shipments and depletions, and monitor key performance indicators with distributors.
- Recommend and oversee the implementation of major activations as outlined in the marketing plan, closely monitoring and optimizing budgets.
- Sustain growth in e-commerce and on-trade channels.
- Identify and secure business opportunities across all channels, including off-trade, on-trade, e-commerce, B2B, and B2C.
- Promote and develop the strategic brand image through field activities and a network of prescribers such as distributors, clients, and key influencers.
The role also involves analyzing brand performance against market trends and gathering market and competitive intelligence.
This is a home-office position, with potential bases in Munich, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt am Main, or Hamburg, depending on the successful candidate's location.
Position Requirements
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience in the wines and spirits industry, preferably with distributor and sales force management experience.
- Proven track record in sales, marketing, and educational expertise in W&S, with excellent communication skills. Reliability and efficiency are essential.
- Strong analytical and synthesis skills.
- Creativity, pragmatism, and critical thinking are valuable assets.
- Fluent in German and English; knowledge of French is a plus.
- Willingness to travel within the business area.
