Description

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment to ensure continual access to innovation. We work on challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain, and we seek talented individuals to help.

You will join a diverse team of engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers. Your role involves collaborating across AWS to uphold safety and security standards, providing capacity at minimal cost, and fostering an inclusive culture that encourages bold ideas and ownership.

Role Responsibilities

  1. Review design plans with colo vendors for new Data Centers, including input, submittal review, and AWS product integration to meet expectations.
  2. Act as resident engineer during construction projects, supporting construction, commissioning, and handover.
  3. Troubleshoot issues, conduct Root Cause Analysis, and document Corrective Actions for site/equipment failures.
  4. Support operational issues through training and review of operating procedures.
  5. Assist in design upgrades for existing data centers to enhance capacity, availability, and efficiency.
  6. Review and approve upgrade designs with operating partners.
  7. Coordinate with various teams to maintain service standards and reliability.
  8. Lead engineering site audits, produce risk reports, and recommend mitigations.

Daily Activities

  1. Interact with different teams responsible for data center operations.
  2. Prioritize activities to support capacity, availability, and safety.
  3. Engage in local and global projects.
  4. Lead projects to meet customer needs and support expansion to hyper-scale.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years in industrial or commercial engineering, including data centers or mission-critical facilities.
  • Strong communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with software tools for calculation and data processing.
  • Hands-on experience with data center design, construction, or operation.
  • Experience as a resident engineer or design consultant, registered professional engineer preferred.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical data center equipment.
  • Experience with EPMS/SCADA/BMS systems.
