Software Development Engineer (Android), Fire TV Experience - Berlin

Join our Berlin team! We're developing Fire TV device components that facilitate user setup, interaction, and control. We seek talented engineers to help maintain Fire TV's position as a global entertainment leader, providing the best customer experience and a broad content selection. You'll implement core features of a widely used product.

This high-visibility team owns a key part of Fire TV technology, with full cross-functional ownership of our components and roadmap based in Berlin. We collaborate closely with UX teams in Seattle and other partner groups.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design and implement features for Fire TV devices, including TVs, Sticks, Cubes, and others, enhancing the daily user experience for millions.
2. Participate in Agile development, taking full ownership of feature scope and domain, and deliver on the Fire TV Android codebase.

About the Team

We are the Berlin branch of the Fire TV organization, a 40+ member team responsible for client and service implementations across various domains. Managed and supported by Berlin-based leadership, we define the roadmap for worldwide features.

Basic Qualifications

• Professional experience in software development (non-internship).
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, C++, or C#, with object-oriented design skills.
• Experience in designing or architecting systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scalability.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
