AOCS & GNC Architect (m/f/d) The AOCS & GNC department is responsible for the whole lifecycle of the AOCS & GNC subsystem in accordance with the system requirements. This includes all satellite phases from the early concept and feasibility studies up to in space commissioning and operation. The core part of our work is to establish an AOCS & GNC architecture, to perform the related analyses, to develop the AOCS & GNC software, to select and procure the AOCS & GNC hardware, to perform the subsystem verification and validation, to support system level activities, and to support LEOP and IOT.
Your Tasks Being the AOCS & GNC architect, you are responsibleto ensure that the S/S fulfils the mission needs. You will be leading a smallteam of AOCS & GNC engineers and need to make sure that they can work attheir best. Meeting the S/S requirements derived in time and cost is a key tothe success of the mission. During the project, you will need to complete thefollowing tasks:
Definition of the AOCS S/S architecture and relevant trade offs Participation to project system team as reference for AOCS topics Definition and management of AOCS S/S interfaces with other satellite subsystems Coordination of small team (3-5 persons) of AOCS/GNC engineers in the project team Definition of the AOCS S/S Specification Definition of AOCS FDIR concept Interface the AOCS department flight SW responsible for the design, development, and validation of the project AOCS flight SW Preparation of technical documentations for S/S review Review and evaluation of AOCS equipment suppliers’ technical proposal Technical support to procurement of AOCS equipment (e.g.: sensors, actuators, ground support equipment) Participation to major system, subsystem and unit design review Definition of AOCS S/S verification and validation activities Support AOCS test activities at unit (sensors, actuators), subsystem and system levels (integrated spacecraft) Support the definition of AOCS S/S in-flight operational procedure Support to satellite proposals and system studies for AOCS & GNC topics Your Qualifications It is important to us that the AOCS & GNCArchitect is fit for the tasks that are waiting for them. Master or comparable qualification (or PhD) in aerospace engineering, mechatronics engineering or similar Professional experience of at least 5-7 years Experience in the space business, especially with AOCS & GNC S/S design development and verification (HW and SW) Technical leadership of a small team of AOCS & GNC engineers Good knowledge on AOCS & GNC HW (sensors & actuators), different technologies and suppliers (European & worldwide) Good Knowledge of AOCS & GNC SW, namely attitude estimation, guidance, control algorithms Good knowledge of Matlab and C programming language Experience with Python and/or other scripting languages is a plus Knowledge of ECSS standards Good leadership skills in a cooperative work style Good communication and conflict management skills High motivation and proactive involvement Excellent conceptual and problem solving skills Ability to work in international teams Willingness to undergo a security clearance check Fluent in English (fluent in German is a plus) We offer Work Life Balance: Flexible working hours, sabbatical, 30 days vacation & specialleave days
