As a Lead Software Engineer (m/w/d), you will form a responsible duo with the Product Owner for a software engineering team. You should be able to motivate, inspire, and support your team towards successful project completion. Are you a problem solver, mentor, and communicator who fosters a productive work environment? Will you actively shape your team’s development and task horizon? If frontend, backend, microservices, cloud, and CI/CD are your domain, and you seek variety—welcome! You build it, you run it!

Responsibilities

• Modeling and implementing user- and requirement-driven business software
• Mentoring and coaching developers
• Promoting and establishing meaningful standards and conventions
• Participating in recruiting and team-building
• Collaborating with the Product Owner to balance technical and business priorities on the roadmap
• Assessing complexity and technical feasibility of requirements
• Improving developer experience, tool, and workflow selection
• Developing backend processes with appropriate architecture driven by requirements
• Working closely with logistics and UX specialists to design and develop new features
• Conducting code reviews and collaborating intensively with developers

Tech Stack

• Backend: Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot, Apache Kafka, Microservice architecture, Event-driven
• Frontend: Web Components (Lit-Element), Redux, Typescript, Elasticsearch
• Platform: AWS Cloud, Kubernetes, Docker, Prometheus, Grafana, MongoDB, Postgres

About You

• Several years of experience in software development
• Experience in leading people
• Experience in digital product development
• Experience working with agile methodologies
• Strong knowledge of Java & Spring Boot or similar technologies
• Passion for modeling, clean code, and behavior-driven testing
• Knowledge of event-driven architecture, Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native environments
• Frontend experience, ideally with complex applications in Typescript
• Excellent German and English skills

Occasional presence at our locations in Osnabrück and Hamburg is required.
