About the job
The IoT team is looking for a Sales Specialist to partner with field Account Executives to sell complex technical products, solutions, and services to prospective and current customers. Provide in-depth industry or product expertise to facilitate closing deals within the assigned territory. Typically, carry an overlay quota shared with the field sales organization.
As a Sales Specialist IoT, you will:
- Collaborate with field Account Executives to sell IoT software, solutions, and/or services to current and prospective customers.
- Initiate and support lead generation activities. Integrate strategy into overall account plans. Qualify leads by analyzing business drivers and technical fit.
- Use expert domain knowledge to fulfill a wide range of requests for information from prospective customers.
- Qualify opportunities according to established processes.
- Develop opportunities by managing and influencing requirements to gain a competitive edge. Create and present sales proposals and systems solutions to communicate the value of the company’s products and services. Leverage pre-sales engineering resources as appropriate.
- Prepare standard quotes and proposal information as needed. Communicate with other departments to create and finalize contracts and set time schedules for services.

Required qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in sales, marketing, or technical support of computer software solutions (including related training products and services), computer hardware, or telecommunications software/hardware. Specific industry-related experience may be considered in combination with the above requirements.
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Marketing, MIS, or a related discipline.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English, along with strong interpersonal skills.
- General knowledge of SAS products and their applications or specialized IoT products related to the assigned area.
- Experience in solving problems of diverse scope, analyzing data, and evaluating factors. Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for solutions. Network with senior internal and external personnel in the area of expertise.
- An equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience may be considered in lieu of the above qualifications.
